A landslide occurred in Maharashtra’s Vasai on Wednesday following heavy rains in the region. According to the police, the debris fell on a house in the Wagrapada area of Vasai.

Rescue officials have rescued two people from the site, while three are still feared to be stuck under the debris.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is at the site leading the rescue operations. No casualties have been reported so far.

MUMBAI RAINS

The landslide in Vasai is not the first incident that has occurred due to the incessant rains in Maharashtra. On Tuesday, three people died in Nagpur district, while as many are missing after the SUV they were travelling in was swept away while crossing a flooded bridge.

The IMD issued an orange alert in Mumbai, Thane and parts of Raigad and Palghar today.
