6 new hospitals to come up in UP soon

Lucknow: The people of Uttar Pradesh will soon get six new hospitals in various districts.

Deputy chief minister and UP health minister Brajesh Pathak reviewed the construction work of the hospitals on Saturday and directed the officials to complete work at the earliest.

According to officials, Sikrara primary health centre in Jaunpur district is being upgraded and developed into a 100-bed hospital.

A 100-bed joint hospital is being constructed near Maurang Mandi, Kanpur, by the State Construction Corporation.

Similarly, a 100-bed joint hospital is being built by the State Construction Corporation in Jewar, Gautam Budh Nagar. Another 30-bed community health centre is being built at Chandapur in Rae Bareli.

Two 20-bed primary health centres are being constructed in Unnao’s Raipur and in Banjarikala area of Mirzapur.

Pathak said efforts were being made to improve health services in rural areas so that patients did not have to run to district hospitals for minor ailments.

“With the establishment of 100-bed and 30-bed hospitals, patients will be able to get better treatment easily. At the same time, the footfall of patients in big hospitals will be reduced and serious patients will get treatment on time. A total of 370 beds will be increased in these hospitals,” he said.
