Agastya Nanda bags Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Ekkis’, filming to begin in January 2024

After his debut with ‘The Archies’, Agastya Nanda will begin filming for his big screen debut ‘Ekkis’, with director Sriram Raghavan in January 2024. The film is touted to be a biopic of the 1971 war hero, Arun Khetarpal. Veteran actor Dharmendra will also feature in the movie in a key role.

AGASTYA NANDA TO BEGIN SHOOT FOR ‘EKKIS’

Sriram Raghavan, who is gearing up for the release of his thriller ‘Merry Christmas, will soon commence shooting with debutant Agastya Nanda for ‘Ekkis’. The ‘The Archies’ actor has been roped in to play the role of the leading character, Arun Khetarpal, while Dharmendra will essay the role of his father, ML Khetarpal.

Agastya attended several acting workshops with Sriram and specially trained acting coaches to polish his body language and step into the shoes of India’s most celebrated war hero, Arun Khetarpal.

A source close to the development said, “December and the first half of January will be spent by Agastya in reading the script and also doing some workshops to rehearse for the schedule ahead. Sriram wanted a young actor to play the part of Arun Khetarpal and feels that Agastya fits the role like a hand in a glove. After months of prep, Sriram and Agastya are now all set to commence the journey of bringing the heroic tale to the big screen.”

ON AGASTYA AND SRIRAM’S WORK FRONT

Agastya Nanda was last seen in Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’. The musical-comedy premiered on Netflix on December 7. It also featured Suhan Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, Dot and Mihir Ahuja, among others in significant roles.

Sriram, on the other hand, is known for films including, ‘Badlapur’, ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ and ‘Andhadhun’, among others. His next, ‘Merry Christmas’, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif is slated to hit theatres in January 2024.
