MUMBAI: Three independent laboratories submitted their reports to the Bombay HC in connection with samples of Johnson’s baby powder from its Mulund plant, and the HC orally said two reports found samples in compliance with statutory requirement while a third says pH values are not stable.

The HC bench of Justices S V Gangapurwala and S G Chapalgaonkar said the reports be handed over to Food and Drug Administration and Johnson & Johnson Pvt Ltd. Senior counsel Ravi Kadam for J&J submitted that it may be permitted to sell since the reports make it clear.

The HC, however, said it would first hear the FDA counsel and additional government pleader Milind More before passing orders on sale.
