Digital pharma giant Partex set to invest Rs 1,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: Multi-country-based digital pharma company Partex has expressed the desire to make an investment of about Rs 1000 crore in Uttar Pradesh.

Founder and CEO of the company Dr Gunjan Bharadwaj expressed the intent at the UP Global Investor Summit 2023 roadshow meeting in Paris on Monday.

Partex deals with big data and the use of artificial intelligence methodologies for drug development and discovery to improve outcomes in the health sector. “Partex signed an investment intent of Rs 1000 crore to establish Amrit – a patient data exchange – in Varanasi to utilize the power of AI in the healthcare system,” tweeted officials of Invest UP. The delegation in France was led by deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and comprises minister of state for IT and IT-enabled services Yogendra Upadhaya.

The company, which has a presence in USA, Germany, Switzerland and India, uses AI-enabled novel hypotheses across the life sciences. They claim that their methods save 50 per cent time that goes into drug discovery. So far, they have earned more than 65 patents and are in the process of filing 12 5 more patents with the help of high throughput screening capabilities and biophysical characterization.

The delegation also met Business France’s Asia and Pacific Area Coordinator, Jean Francois Ambrosio who expressed his intention to further strengthen IndoFrench bilateral ties through partnerships in the fields of food processing, agriculture and dairy. The delegation from Uttar Pradesh also met Etienne Poirot Bordin, head of the International Commission of Confederation of SMEs (CPME) and invited them to set up industries under MSMEs in sectors like renewable energy, defence and water transportation.

Air Liquide Group Director Maxime Lambert and Risk Management Vice President Bertrand Monoi expressed their desire to invest in the field of green hydrogen in the state and also expressed their intention to expand their business in UP whereas Thomas Computing CEO Stephen Francis and Vice President International Sales Pierre Krasonewsky expressed interest in investing in IT-related laptop and tablet assembling and distribution. Maurya also invited the Country Head (India) of EDF Renewables and Total Arainto to invest in the renewable energy sector in India and GIS 2023.

The roadshow in Singapore by the minister for water resources Swatantra Dev Singh concluded with significant success. Ministers who returned from their journey met the CM. While deputy chief minister Brijesh Pathak met the CM on Monday, industries minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi paid a visit to the CM earlier. The CM will convene a combined meeting of delegations on Thursday.
