Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said providing free education and medical facilities to students and people is not termed as distributing ‘revdi’. The response of the AAP supremo came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said efforts are being made to bring in the culture of collecting votes by distributing ‘free revdi’ in the country.
Hitting out at PM Modi’s ‘revdi culture’ jibe, Delhi CM said, “Allegations are being levelled against me but I want to ask what my mistake is. There are 18 lakh students studying in Delhi govt schools. We are providing them with free, quality education. Am I committing a crime by giving them free, good education?”

“This should have been done in 1947 and 1950. We are setting up the foundation of the country, this is not giving out free revdis,” Kejriwal said.
The AAP chief said, “We provide free and quality medical care in government hospitals of Delhi. Is this giving revdi?”
ARVIND KEJRIWAL HITS OUT AT ‘REVDI’ REMARK
“Those who abuse me have spent thousands of crores on buying airplanes and private jets for themselves. Kejriwal doesn’t buy airplanes for himself. Despite making so many things in Delhi free, our budget is still running in profit. I’m not saying this; the latest CAG report says this”, Kejriwal said.
“Delhi is the only city where treatment of two crore people is being done free of cost. The entire cost of treatment is borne by the government,” he said.
“I have studied engineering and my degree is not fake. If I have ended corruption and provided facilities to people, what wrong have I done,” CM Kejriwal asked
Delhi CM said, “I will tell you what free revdi is. There is a big company that took loans from various banks. Kha gaye wo loan. Bank diwaliya ho gaye. That company gave one political party donation of a few crores and no action was taken by the government against this company. This is free revdi. When you waive loans of thousands of crores by your friends, that is free revdi”,”
PM MODI ON REVDI CULTURE
Earlier in the day, PM Modi cautioned people against the ‘revdi culture’ under which votes were sought by promising free electoral freebies. PM Modi said this could be ‘very dangerous’ for the development of the country.
“This Revdi culture is very dangerous for the development of the country. Those with Revdi culture will never build new expressways, new airports or defense corridors for you. Together we have to defeat this thinking, remove Revdi culture from the politics of the country,” the PM said at the launch of Bhudelkhand expressway.
