General elections: AAP’s Lok Sabha candidates from Delhi shows its ‘defeated mentality’, says Delhi BJP vice-president Kapil Mishra

The BJP said on Tuesday that the AAP’s list of candidates for Lok Sabha seats from Delhi showed that it had a ‘defeated mentality’.

The vice president of BJP’s Delhi unit Kapil Mishra said in a post on X, “AAP’s Delhi Lok Sabha candidates list is a symbol of a desperate, disappointed and defeated mentality.”

He said in the post that “not even one of these candidates” would be able to save the deposits.

“Looking at the names of the candidates, it seems that (sic) Kejriwal has accepted defeat even before the elections begin,” Kapil Mishra said.

The AAP announced its list of candidates for four Lok Sabha seats in Delhi earlier on Tuesday. The AAP has decided to field its candidates from New Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi, and East Delhi constituencies.

The party has decided to field three sitting MLAs, namely, Somnath Bharti from New Delhi, Kuldeep Kumar from East and Shahiram from South Delhi, and former MP Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi.

The names have been finalised after seat-sharing talks with the Congress party as part of the INDIA bloc.

It should be noted that the BJP won all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi in the 2014 and 2019 general elections.
