IAS officer Tina Dabi, who took charge as the 65th collector of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district on Wednesday, took to social media to share pictures from her first day.

Dabi, the first scheduled caste (SC) woman to have topped the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, put out a post on her Instagram account with pictures from her first day in office as the Jaisalmer collector.

Earlier this year, Dabi married Dr Pradeep Gawande, a 2013-batch IAS officer, in a private ceremony in Jaipur after her divorce from Dr Athar Amir Khan, a 2015-batch IAS officer based in Kashmir. Dabi and Gawande had a private wedding reception in a plush hotel in Jaipur on April 22.

Both Dabi and Gawande had been posted in Jaipur. While Tina was working as joint secretary in the finance department of the Rajasthan government, Pradeep was posted as the director of archaeology and museums in Jaipur.

While for Gawande it was his first wedding, Dabi entered into wedlock for the second time.

Dabi was earlier married to Athar Amir Khan, but their marriage did not last long. Dabi and Khan were granted divorce by the Jaipur family court.

Dabi, the topper of the 2015 UPSC examination, and her former husband, Khan, filed for divorce via mutual consent in November 2020.

Dabi and Khan got married in 2018. Athar Khan had secured the second position in the UPSC civil services examination in 2015, the same year in which Tina Dabi had topped the civil service examination.
