India reports 157 new COVID cases in last 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded 157 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the active COVID caseload to 3,421, as reported by the government of India. The current active caseload stands at 0.01 per cent.

The daily COVID positivity rate stands at 0.32 per cent, whereas the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.18 per cent.

The government relayed that the total recovery from coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours is recorded to be 163, bringing the total recovery tally to 4,41,43,342 since the onset of the pandemic, and the recovery rate to 98.8 per cent.

So far, 90.99 crore tests to diagnose COVID have been conducted in India, out of which 49,464 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

According to the Indian government, 220.06 crore doses of the COVID vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. This tally is comprised of 95.12 crore second doses and 22.37 crore precaution doses. 97,622 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours.
