‘KBC 15’: Big B recalls the first thing he practised after becoming an actor

In the December 19 episode of the reality TV show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’, host and actor Amitabh Bachchan recalled his early acting days and shared that the first thing he learnt was to sign autographs. While sharing his story with contestant Shamsuddin from Hyderabad, the superstar also discussed the significance of pens in his life.


The latest episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’ began with contestant Abhishek Pareek leaving the show after winning Rs 12,50,000. Following him, Abhishek Chauhan from Ujjain made an entry, but, quit the game after winning Rs 80,000.

After host Amitabh Bachchan played the Fastest Finger Round, Shamsuddin from Hyderabad won it and took the hotseat. Shamsuddin revealed that he is a professor and runs an educational institute in the city. After a brief introduction, the duo then proceed to play the game. The first question read, “For which of these stationary items would you get a refill?” Shamsuddin selected the answer as ‘pen’.

The superstar then discussed the importance of pens and elaborated on how the item changed his life. He said, “When I was in school till class second and third, we were allowed to use pencils and from class fourth pens were introduced in our lives.” He continued, “During childhood, whenever we bought something new, we used to keep it under our pillow and sleep. I remember I bought that pen, put it under my pillow and slept on it and filled it with ink in the morning, and then I started writing with it.”

He further discussed how he would practise giving autographs after starting his acting career. He said, “Jab hum actor ban gaye the toh sabse pehle yehi practice karte the ki humara autograph kaisa hoga. (When I became an actor, this was the first thing that I practised).”


The makers of the show, played a video on the life of Shamsuddin and also showed where his institution was situated. They also delved into the love story of Shamsuddin and his wife Ritu.

‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’ airs on Sony Entertainment Television, every Monday to Friday at 9 pm. Alternatively, it also airs on the SonyLIV app.
