Madhya Pradesh man arrested for killing uncle over property dispute

A man in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior was arrested for allegedly murdering his maternal uncle over a property dispute involving a sum of Rs 30 lakh. Notably, the accused was the one who initially reported his uncle’s murder to the police.

On October 1, the victim, Ramkishore, was found dead at his home.

Based on the accused Rahul’s complaint, the police initiated a murder investigation against an unidentified suspect. A reward of Rs 5,000 was even announced for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator.

However, as the investigation progressed, Rahul’s behaviour raised suspicions amongst the police officers.

Upon strict interrogation, Rahul confessed to the police that he was behind his uncle’s murder.

A senior police official said Rahul’s mother and aunt were claiming a share in land belonging to Ramkishore’s father.

Rahul told the police that Ramkishore had contested his father’s will in court, which prevented any transfer or sale of the property. He later sold the land for Rs 30 lakh.

According to the police, Rahul had gone to Ramkishore’s house with the intention of stealing the cash after the land deal and allegedly murdered him.
