A Janata Dal (United) leader was shot three times by unidentified men near his house in Bihar’s Jamui district. He was critically injured and referred to Patna for further treatment.
The incident happened late on Monday night, when JD(U) city president and former ward councillor candidate, Pawan Sah was returning home from the market. Suddenly, some unidentified men arrived and opened fire at him, before fleeing the scene.
Locals, upon hearing the firing sounds, rushed to the scene and took Pawan Sah to a nearby clinic. Pawan Sah, who was critically injured, said he could not identify anyone.
Meanwhile, police also arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the case. The criminals carried out this incident due to old enmity and a dispute over a vehicle stand. Though the exact reason is yet to be confirmed, a police official said.
The police are also examining CCTV footage and will soon solve this case, he added.
