By Sagay Raj, Anagha Kesav: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said he won’t join the BJP, even if they promise to make him President or Prime Minister of the country.

“Not even my dead body will go to the BJP,” he said at a rally in poll-bound Karnataka.

Siddaramaiah, who has been nursing chief ministerial ambitions, was taking a dig at HD Kumaraswamy’s Janata Dal Secular as its MLAs had defected to BJP, bringing an end to the Congress-JDS government in the state.

Responding to the senior Congress leader’s statement, BJP leader Narayanaswamy said Siddaramaiah is disillusioned.

“Why will his body come here? He is disillusioned. You are a former CM. We all have respect for you. Please save that respect,” the BJP MLC said.

The Karnataka Assembly election is expected to be held on or before May 2023.
