Times Square evacuated after grenade found in Uber back seat at anti Israel protest

Times Square was reportedly evacuated after an inert grenade was discovered in the back seat of an Uber on Saturday as anti-Israel protesters marched their way through New York City, blocking traffic and preventing the bomb squad from reaching the spot.

An Uber driver dropped off a passenger at 42nd Street and 7th Avenue in Times Square, and turned around to notice a grenade in the back seat, police sources were cited by the New York Post.

Several protesters who blocked the traffic were arrested for stopping a police vehicle to reach the cab as it responded to the scene.
