Why is INDIA bloc silent?: Amit Shah on record cash haul in tax raid on Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu’s premises

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday demanded a response from Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders on the recovery of over Rs 350 crore cash from premises associated with Dheeraj Prasad Sahu, a Congress MP from Jharkhand, during an Income Tax raid.

Amit Shah who was in Patna to attend the Eastern Zonal Council meeting also questioned why opposition parties, specifically members of the INDIA alliance, were silent on the matter.

“I am very surprised. After independence, such a large amount of cash was seized from an MP’s house. Crores of rupees have been recovered but the whole INDIA alliance is silent on this corruption. I understand Congress is silent as corruption is in their nature but JDU, RJD, DMK, and SP are all sitting silently,” Shah said, as per news agency ANI.

In a pointed statement, Shah accused the opposition of fearing exposure of their corruption, suggesting that their previous claims of investigative agencies being misused were merely propaganda.

“Now I understand why a campaign was run against PM Modi that agencies are being misused. It was run because there was a fear in their mind that all the secrets of their corruption would be revealed,” he said.

While the Congress has attempted to distance itself from Sahu, asserting no connection to his business dealings, the BJP has seized upon the incident to reinforce allegations of corruption against the Grand Old Party.

Shah vowed that the BJP would bring this issue to the public’s attention, underscoring the party’s commitment to combating corruption.
