  • The medium pacer had a stunning IPL with SunRisers Hyderabad

Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been in great form off late. After a successful outing in the Indian Premier League with SunRisers Hyderabad, Kumar made a strong statement for his place in the T20 World Cup squad, after putting up back to back performances for the national team.

Kumar, who has had multiple issues with his fitness in the last couple of years, has left people pleasantly surprised with his consistency for the national team. Asked by the reporters in the press conference about his tryst with fitness and if he believed that his India career was over, the right arm pacer said that he never gave it a thought.

“I never thought that it, that was it for me, but yes, I was working with the physios, trainers and doing my thing. And of course, when you are out of the game you’re never confident. You just, feel a bit frustrated or disappointed, but you want to come back. And luckily I know I came back and (I’m) playing for India again.”

Kumar has been on the money at the top of the bowling line-up, swinging the white-ball under the lights. This has put the top-order batters in trouble, which essentially set the tone for the rest of the innings.

“When ball swings, you definitely enjoy. In the last few years, there is not much help with the ball in England but this year it’s more. White ball getting swing upfront is a motivational factor for fast bowler and batters have to take their chances. We know Buttler is a dangerous player. If ball swings I go for a wicket and it works. If ball swings, it motivates you to do things against a particular batsman,” he said.

The Indian bowling line-up has been shaping quite nicely ahead of the T20 World Cup. With the return of Hardik Pandya, India have been able to find their middle order enforcer and have won back to back matches against England with huge margins.
