A girl has alleged that she was gang-raped at a rehabilitation centre in Uttarakhand’s Rishikesh. Police have filed a case after the girl alleged gang-rape and have launched an investigation into the matter.
According to police, the victim met a man through a girl from Delhi who runs a rehabilitation centre in Rishikesh.
“After a few days, the girl was offered a cold drink laced with sedatives and was raped by two men. When she came back to her senses, she was threatened with obscene videos and photos. The girl was sent outside the town and was raped multiple times,” police said.
Fed up with sexual harassment, the girl sent a letter to a senior police officer appealing to him to arrest the accused.
Kotwali Station House officer Ravi Saini said, “Police have filed a case in the matter and further investigation is underway.”
