In a viral video on social media, Kohli can be seen kicking the ground out of agony and shouting at one of the players on the field during the match. His frustration is justified given that RCB have struggled to find their feet in the championship. From here on, RCB need to win almost all their games to have any chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

RCB’s nightmare against SRH

Back in 2013, Bengaluru set the record for the highest team score in the history of the IPL. 11 years later, they hold the dubious record for conceding the most runs an innings after SRH racked up 287 for 3 in 20 overs. Travis Head scored 102 runs off 41 balls with 9 fours and 8 sixes. Heinrich Klaasen also played his shots and made 67 runs off 31 deliveries. Lockie Ferguson got 2 wickets, but leaked 52 runs in 4 overs.

Chasing the huge target, Kohli and Faf du Plessis put on 80 runs for the opening wicket off 6.2 overs. Kohli managed 42 runs off 20 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes before Mayank Markande accounted for his wicket. Batting at No.6, Dinesh Karthik chipped in with a handy knock of 83 runs off 35 balls, laced with 5 fours and 7 sixes, but to no avail.

RCB’s next game is against Shreyas Iyer’s Kolkata on Sunday, April 21 at the Eden Gardens.
