He is being questioned by the probe agency since 7am.

NO DOCUMENT OF PATRA CHAWL TAKEN INTO ED CUSTODY: SANJAY RAUT’S LAWYER

Even as the central probe agency seized cash worth Rs 11.50 lakh from the MP’s house, his lawyer, Vikrant Sabne claimed that no document related to Patra chawl was taken into ED custody.

“Sanjay Raut was summoned this afternoon. We accepted it and came here. There are some documents related to properties that have been seized but there is no document of Patra Chawl as he is not involved in it,” Sabne said.

PROBE AGENCY’S NON-COOPERATION ALLEGATIONS

According to ED sources, Sanjay Raut was not cooperating with the ED officers. When the officers asked him to leave for the ED office, he told them that he was a sitting MP and sought time till August 7, sources said.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Raut’s brother, Sunil, refuted the allegations of the Rauts not cooperating with the central agency’s investigation.

“We have let them look into all corners of our house. Accusations of non-cooperation are false,” he said.

Sanjay Raut’s brother, Sunil, said the ED action had been taken against him due to his closeness to former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Union minister Raosaheb Danve commented on the ED raid at Sanjay Raut’s Mumbai residence and said, “CBI and ED work independently. It has nothing to do with politics.”

UDDHAV SENA’S REACTIONS

Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said the central agency’s move was an attempt to silence one of the most vocal opponents of the central/ state BJP and their wrongdoings.

SHINDE CAMP AND OTHER PARTIES’ REACTIONS

Maharashtra MLA and a member of the rebel Shiv Sena, Deepak Kesarkar, has said Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s meeting with top BJP leaders in Delhi was not connected to Enforcement Directorate (ED) action on Sanjay Raut.

“CM’s meeting in Delhi with top BJP leaders yesterday was about cabinet expansion and had nothing to do with Sanjay Raut,” Kesarkar said.
